La Commission Européenne [CE] et des administrations nationales suppriment peu à peu la possibilité d’accéder librement aux produits naturels traditionnels tels que les plantes pour la santé de l’homme, des animaux ou des végétaux. De même, les règlements internationaux et des brevets industriels confisquent ou privatisent les ressources vivantes agricoles comme les semences des plantes, des variétés végétales. Les paysans n’ont plus le droit d’utiliser, d’échanger ni de vendre librement leurs semences paysannes.
A mesure que la demande sociétale et les mises en garde des scientifiques s’orientent de manière croissante vers des solutions plus naturelles pour la santé, l’agriculture et l’environnement, des réglementations européennes pro lobbyistes se durcissent en sens inverse de cette évolution.
Cette attitude s’oppose à l’intérêt public et écologique, en favorisant les lobbies industriels, au détriment des besoins impératifs du vivant, de l'autonomie alimentaire et de l’agroécologie.
Les citoyens se trouvent dépossédés de ressources vivantes inaliénables et non préoccupantes, qui étaient utilisées librement depuis toujours et qui ont été largement validées par l'utilisation populaire et par la science.
Les signataires refusent que le vivant soit confisqué ou privatisé au profit des multinationales. Ils dénoncent ces réglementations anti-démocratiques et anti-écologiques, et demandent à la CE de renoncer aux orientations opposées à l'intérêt public et aux impératifs vitaux actuels et des générations futures.
ENGLISH VERSION OF THE PETITION OUR LIVING WORLD
The European Commission (EC) and the national administrations are eliminating, little by little, the possibilities of free access to natural, traditional products such as the plants useful for the health of Man, other animals and plants. In parallel the international regulations, industrial patents and intellectual property laws are confiscating or privatising the natural living resources of traditional agriculture – for example seed stocks and fruit and vegetable varieties. Farmers no longer have the right to freely use, exchange or sell the seed that they have themselves produced on their own farm.
Whilst the demands of society and the recommendations of independent scientists are pushing for an orientation towards more natural solutions for healthcare, agriculture and the environment; the pro-industrial European authorities are pushing through legislation to create a legal framework which imposes an evolution in the opposite direction.
This attitude of the EC is clearly opposed to the environmental and general public interests and favours the financial interests of multinational industry – to the detriment of the needs of the living world, food production and ecologically sound agriculture.
The citizens of Europe find themselves dispossessed of resources available from the natural living world which are of no concern in terms of safety and have been tried, tested and freely used since time immemorial. This traditional popular usage and the more recent modern scientific examination of the usefulness of such products have clearly validated the efficacy and safety of such products.
The signatories of this petition refuse the confiscation or privatisation of the living world for the benefit of the multinationals. They denounce the anti-democratic and anti-ecological regulations imposed by the EC and demands that it renounces its political and legislative orientations which go against the public interest, the imperatives of the living world and the needs of future generations.
